Streb is an amazement and represents what is authentic and true in New York in terms of innovative dance and acrobatic culture. Growing up as a dancer in those glorious 1970's, we all paid attention to Elizabeth Streb and her intellectual and boundary-pushing approach to presenting movement. Her magic is the template for this sort of space, and she continues to inspire and motivate. I used to run a similarly malleable acrobatic/dance space in LIC before the pandemic , very much inspired by Elizabeth's journey. Last weekend I collaborated with Streb to make an immersive event for a high level client, and was utterly charmed by their attention to detail and the warm welcome into their world. Having run my own warehouse, I'm a rather fussy critic of flow and safety within a space that has rigging equipment , aerial apparatus, and an abundance of obstacles, and I was enormously pleased with how they navigated my group , rules in place, but allowing for fun and improvisation. Shoutouts to Bobby H-T with his silky yet impish temperament and problem-solving prowess, Ayal and his nimble team of flyers and Jackie guiding some enthusiastic trampoline jumpers without incident. Excellent event. I highly recommend Streb to throw your next party.

From the very start, when we got in touch with Bobby about doing the Friday Nights at SLAM the communication was wonderful and very friendly. Then once we got to the venue we were so happy to see how stress-free Bobby and his team put on a magnificent evening. Thank you Bobby, all the team and SLAM for making an unforgettable Friday performance for us and our family. We look forward in coming back for new performances and collaborations

My fiancée (now wife) and I were - to put it mildly - distraught when our venue canceled the night before our sold-out cabaret and two nights before our wedding. As we featured several acts with aerialists, replacement venues were nigh impossible to come by at such short notice. And yet - in a testament to the wonderful, beautiful, supportive creative community of artists in our city, Bobby and Streb were there to catch us. Despite not knowing us, despite the short notice, and despite having a show that evening, Bobby returned my call and in hours had us in the studio working through an impromptu dress rehearsal. And the following day, we held one of the most memorable shows I've ever produced, back-to-back with the incredible artists at Streb's Friday Night SLAM. Everybody involved was professional, prompt, competent, supportive, and in all ways at the top of their game. I have never been more proud of my community than I was that night. Streb knocked it out of the park, and we gained so many friends. We will absolutely be back (next time, under considerably less duress!), and we cannot wait!

Streb is a first-class venue with a professional staff that cares about its performers and the community at large. They support all performers and make everyone feel welcome. I attended one of their shows on September 20, 2024 and they took in a group of performers that had just lost their venue the day before. They were nothing but supportive, flexible, caring, sympathetic and awesome. And, they put on a great show!!

It’s always a pleasure training and performing at Streb Lab for Action Mechanics and with Bobby Hedglin-Taylor. In addition to the space being able to support aerial work which is becoming increasingly rare in New York City, it’s a warm, collegial, supportive environment in which to rehearse and perform. My experience performing as part of Friday nights at SLAM is always a joy. I feel free to create and perform work on my own terms rather than adhering to a set aesthetic, and I feel supported in the performance prep process. Bobby is always kind, helpful, and encouraging, and seeing him is part of the great experience I have every time I come to SLAM.

Went to the Streb for the first time this past Friday for Friday Nights at SLAM, and what a pleasure it was! The host Bobby was charming and welcoming, and the aerial arts were beautiful and inspiring! I am SO happy a place like this still exists in NYC!

what a magical place. we hosted our daughter's 6th birthday here - it's such a different world from a classic "play space". both the dance team and the back of house team made it magical. we loved it!

Streb is a fantastic place to rehearse and hone your craft. They focus heavily on a safe and inclusive environment that makes everyone feel comfortable and welcome. They have great ceiling height for fabric and allow clients to bring their own equipment, if they so choose. The rental rates are also extremely reasonable.
