Train was over two hours late. The drive would have been twice as fast. First and last AMTRAK trip. The man at the front desk was professional and suggested a good place to eat while we waited and waited…

Used this station to catch up Silver Star train from Tampa and faced incompetent and bullying staff forced me to have my electronic ticket printed and my carry on small personal item checked under the threat to cancel my trip and prevent from boarding. These guys were telling lies ("You don't have time, stop being so difficult". - "Your trains are always late". - "Not this time" - 9 minutes delay recorded by railrat) and apparently thinking about themselves as sheriffs ("We have our own rules here. It's not Tampa"). The printed ticket was handed with humiliating comments and jokes ("This is your ticket baby"). Of course nobody gave a damn on the train about the ticket or personal item. Very different and disgusting experience comparing to other stations of the line.

I was assisted by both staff personnel on different days & they were both very helpful. They both printed out the schedule , which helped me understand transfer/layover time & baggage pick up in NY.

This station is always clean and the personnel are super helpful and friendly. Once I was traveling with my elderly mother. We arrived at the station early only to learn that the southbound train to Miami was running late. Rather than sitting at the station waiting , the station manager took down my phone number and promised to call us when the train was 30 minutes out. Who does that these days The train was two hours late that day but we got to get a little shopping and lunch in instead of waiting around at the train station. And as promised, the manager called us when the train was leaving Tampa. A big Thanks to the Lakeland Amtrak station manager!

First time using this station. The staff were wonderful and answered questions from myself and others politely and efficiently. Train was late but we were kept updated. Very clean station. No frills but made up for it by comparison to many others I've been too!
