Leila has been a wonderful instructor. She gives clear instructions for what we need to do and what we can do to help our Littles while they learn to swim. She also explains why we do things the way we do which is helpful so that we can do it correctly. This has also been such a great bonding experience for myself and my child, we look forward to swim day every week. Not only that, but we get to have fun while learning how to be safe in the water. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the facility is very nice, especially considering it is in a strip mall. All around, we love Aqua-Tots! Thank you so much for this wonderful experience 🙂

Honestly the quality has gone so far down hill. When we started it was great but now they seem to have high turnover and very little class availability. They do issue make up classes but it’s hard to even find a time to use them as when I tried booking they would cancel the make up lesson. Also, they tried to kick my daughter out of her scheduled class for another kid even though she has been in it for months at that point. They focus very heavily on being able to perfectly do a stroke but do not teach kids how to tread water safely. The fact the deepest part of the pool is 4’ makes it very hard for older kids to get skills for being in water where they cannot touch the bottom. I felt like they kept my kiddo in the same level for way to long and it was always different if one instructor felt like she was ready to move verses another. I feel this should be standardized. Also, last time we came in I asked about ending our classes and the girl at the front desk told me to fill out the paper next time and we would be done. I went to do it today and was informed I had to give 30 DAYS NOTICE. Which is obviously much different than their other staff member said. I’m very unsatisfied at this point why would I want to continue coming. It’s not like this place is exactly cheap. But requiring 30 days to cancel is a bit obscene especially when your staff did not mention that when I tried to cancel last month. So I guess we will continue to come for another month but I will not be recommending this school to any parent.

My daughter is 7 and she has been going here since she was 6 months old. I have enough make up lessons for them to give me two free years because of their inconsistency. They won't give you a credit back to your account either. Swim instructor turnover is high. Classes are canceled often and on short notice sometimes after you are already there. Because of this, trying to reschedule a makeup class is impossible. You end up paying for a service every month and maybe they get to go to one class out of four. Which you cannont consistently use. I don't see the point of having weekly scheduled classes if we can't rely on Aqua-Tots to staff appropriately. It would be nice if they refunded money for classes the swim school specifically cancelled especially if it is a reoccurring theme. We stuck it out for a while hoping for change. At this point we are looking in to going after to them legally as they have stolen 130 dollars each month for over 2 years.

I've been taking my 2 kids here for almost 3 years. Initially the place was great but it has gone down hill dramatically the past year. The quality of swim instructors are not as good and my kids are not progressing as fast. Class availability has reduced significantly, making it very hard to find make up lessons. Lessons frequently start late, shorting the lesson by several minutes. Management has changed and not for the better.

Overall, we weren’t impressed, especially with how much these lessons cost. Our 2 year old was in the level 2 class (which has a parent in the water too) this class is based on age, not skill. The teachers don’t do a lot of “teaching”. We had 4 different instructors over about 6 weeks of lessons, and only one of them was kind and attentive. The first teacher we had truly paid no attention during the class and was rude (I watched her being rude and grumpy to her other classes when we attended our other lessons) and the last instructor we had was completely unhelpful. My husband asked for advice on teaching our son how to kick better and she said “I don’t know”.
We initially stopped our lessons because our son is ready for the next level but can’t move up until he is 2.5 years old, but after our experiences with the instructors, we won’t be back. We also did not get consistent feedback on our son’s swimming. They say you’re supposed to get feedback at the end of each lesson on skills, I think that happened once or twice and his skills on the app were only updated once.

UPDATE - It’s been a week and no one has called or contacted me. I cancelled our lessons.

This place has gone downhill since we started a year ago. I logged into the app this morning to check on our makeup classes only to find we have been completely unenrolled from our class we’ve been in for the last year. No warning or no communication from Aqua Tots at all. Why? I called to check on it today and was told “you’re fine to come but the class is now full.” Makes no sense, I never unenrolled us from the class so we should have two spots for our twins. The past few weeks we’ve had a different teacher every class. The teacher told us last week there was actually no teacher assigned to our class and she didn’t know who our teacher would be. Very reassuring, not! When it’s a different teacher each week they don’t get to know the kids and their skills/abilities. It’s like starting over with someone new each week.

So as of right now we are paid for September but they cancelled our enrollment in class for some unknown reason. So we paying for classes but aren’t enrolled? Huge problem!

We’ve now had 3 different teachers, class starts 15+ minutes late each week, and each teacher provides totally different feedback and it’s confusing. Our son has been going for a year and just a few weeks ago the instructor said he doesn’t know how to hold his breath. I appreciate her concern for his safety but how is this just now coming up after a year of classes?! The feedback isn’t consistent at all (feels like no one knows what they’re doing) and nor is the curriculum between all the instructors.

Very disappointed of the treatment my son and I received after being loyal customers for almost three years and referring multiple people.

My son started with the parent and tot classes then moved to the group classes. He was miserable in the group classes because he loves water and wanted to be in the water the whole time which I understand is not possible for the safety of the other kids. They would take him out of the water, and he would cry majority of the time because he wanted to be inside the whole time. Not to mention, classes would get cancelled very frequently and he would get different instructors all the time.

It was then when I decided to move him to private classes although it was very very pricey. I expected him to progress much more rapidly since these classes were private and the whole focus was on him. I was wrong, he has been in the same level for over a year. I expected to have the same instructor every time since we had his classes booked with one specific person. Again, I was wrong. He would get random instructors without prior notice. Every time a new instructor stepped in it was a waste of class because they didn’t know where Axel was or what he knew or didn’t know and turned out to be very unproductive.

It wasn’t until almost two weeks ago when I reached my limit. I got an email saying my son’s instructor had changed to ZOEY, no explanation no nothing. I figured maybe his original instructor was going back to school. But when we went in for the first lesson with ZOEY his original instructor was there and still no explanation of the change. I gave Zoey a chance. At the very beginning of the class she kept talking to her peers and looking at me to the point where she started pointing directly at me while other instructors where all looking. How disrespectful, immature and unprofessional to do that to one of the parents. I started to feel so uncomfortable! She kept pushing my son to do back floats, but my son hates them. I understand they have to teach him and it’s fine to push him a little but this is all she kept doing for 20 minutes. She kept pushing my son’s head back to the water when he kept saying no. Then he suddenly started crying (my son can take a lot and will not cry just for nothing) and she kept standing right on front of my son so that I wouldn’t see him cry. I was so upset at this point that I asked the front desk staff to take him out even if the class was not over. I asked my son what happened, and he couldn’t stop crying but finally told me that ZOEY pulled his hair and pushed him on the pool. I let the front desk girl know that I was not coming back, to cancel our membership and to keep all the makeup classes he had. I requested to talk to the manager, but she said her manager was not there that she would have her call me. It’s been almost TWO weeks and I have not heard from anyone! I have called and left a voicemail and an email and still nothing. To make matters worse they still tried to charge me for next month.

This is all unacceptable! I will not be taking my son back! I do not feel comfortable for him to go back to this place.

This location was good when we first started about 9 months ago.
It quickly went down hill, and it’s bad. Management is horrible and disorganized. Classes get cancelled all the time due to staff not showing up to work. Their swim instructors are inexperienced, don’t know anything about teaching swimming, have no confidence in teaching, and need way more training than they get. I’ve already made a complaint in person along with other parents a few months ago, but clearly they don’t care enough to make any changes for the better. Something needs to change here.
