Cannot find anything in this store! The shoes are everywhere and there’s shoes on the shelves with no boxes. I found the size I needed in Birkenstocks for a birthday present but myself or the employee could not find the box. She did say I could purchase the $110 sandals without a box. If they were for me, no problem but they’re a birthday present for a teenager. I guess I will be going somewhere else to find what I need. Not to mention it’s Friday @ 2 in the afternoon and they have 2 registers open with the lines going into the clothing section. This place has really gone downhill!

This location needs major help the first Saturday before classes and only 3 registers open with long lines not good I walked in and saw that I went no way and left. This location needs to figure out if they are a warehouse location or retail can't be both

This was my first time visiting this store. I never been to Academy sports before. I liked the fact that the store is open till 11:00 pm. But the store hardly has anything in stock and the shelves looked unorganized and practically empty with stuff just shoved everywhere. In the clothing section it looked like people just unfolded the clothes and threw them back on the shelves all wadded up. There were boxes of shoes all over the floor. There were even clothes that look like they were taken from the rack and then tossed on the floor. The customer service is poor. I waited over 30 minutes to check out some items I ordered online to pick up in the store at the customer service desk and when I was ready to check out. My purchases were big and heavy and when they brought them to me, no one bothered to help me carry them out to my car. I was disappointed in the overall experience and I won't be back. I would rather drive an hour and a half to Cabela's in Fort Worth or drive five hours to the Bass Pro shop in San Antonio. I would probably get better service and they would have a better selection.

Waited in line for almost 40 minutes because the cashier couldn’t figure out how to scan the barcode. Didn’t ask anyone for help just kept trying over and over again. Put my stuff down and left. They definitely need to hire people who know how to check out customers in a timely manner.

Every single time I come to this store there is only 1 cashier working out of 9 register lanes. I spent 45 minutes waiting in line to buy 1 item. Either hire more help or cross train employees there to open registers when the line is so long. Do better Academy. At one point, there were 37 people in line for one register.

They have what I need, but why do they have 1 register open, a massive line of people trying to checkout, and no self-checkouts? It's unreasonable. And tons of employees are just milling about and not opening the other registers. I understand they may not be trained, but where is the manager? It's unreasonable.

I used to love academy but the location in Abilene is so trashy now. There are lots of employees around but the store always looks like there was a clothing throwing contest and i never see anyone folding or organizing. Shopping there is not worth the time trying to dig through the mess. The photos are only a small part of the mess i took while i was waiting on my husband.
